Kurt Koning

Kurt Koning was born in Piscataway, New Jersey and raised in Willimantic, Connecticut. Kurt graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 2007 with degrees in Political Science and Economics. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key National Honor Society, and the National Association of Collegiate Scholars.

During the two years between college and law school, Kurt worked as a data analyst with the Healthcare Fraud Division of the United States Attorney's Office in Boston, Massachusetts.

Kurt graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2012 after transferring from Howard University School of Law in 2010. While at Brooklyn Law, Kurt was an Articles Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial and Commercial Law. As a full time student, Kurt worked nearly full time as a law clerk for Carroll, Guido & Groffman, a firm specializing in legal services to music industry participants.

Since graduating law school, Kurt served Wayne County as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for almost 7 years, conducting more than 80 felony trials in a wide range of cases involving auto theft, home invasion, armed robbery, assault, arson, drug manufacture, domestic violence, and homicide. In 2019, Kurt was promoted to Team Lead of General Trials, responsible for training new prosecutors and handling complex cases.

Kurt joined the law firm Dodson, Fowler, Williams & Nesi in 2020 focusing half of his practice on plaintiff-side personal injury claims and the other half on family law cases.

In 2021, Kurt served the State of Michigan as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child and Youth Services Division representing the Department of Health and Human Services in child abuse and neglect cases in Wayne County.

Kurt joined Miller Cohen in 2023.
