What would make me a whistleblower under Michigan law?

Michigan employment law protects many different types of workers. One of the groups of workers the law protects is people who are both commonly and in legal parlance called whistleblowers. Generally speaking, a whistleblower is one who blows the whistle on his or her employer by reporting the employer's illegal conduct.

Miller Cohen PLC is proud of our founding partner Bruce A Miller on his selection as a recipient of the Miller Family Wayne Law Alumni Wall of Fame Award. The Wall of Fame Award is the highest award presented by Wayne State University Law School. It recognizes graduate and former employees of the Law School who have distinguished themselves thru their contributions to humanity, the advancement in a particular field of work and former employees who have made a meaningful impression on the Law School. All nominations are carefully considered by the Miller Family Wayne Law Alumni Wall of Fame selection committee consisting of the chair of the Wayne Law Board of Visitors executive committee, two appointed members of the Wayne Law Board of Visitors, the chair of the Board of Visitors' Alumni Relations Committee, the dean, a senior faculty member, a senior major gift officer and the alumni relations officer. There is no question Bruce Miller in his lifelong fight for Justice for Working People has more then met these requirements.

Lawyers You Can Rely On

Miller Cohen attorneys have long been dedicated to the labor movement. Our attorneys strive to represent our brothers and sisters in labor in a variety of venues and courtrooms. As part of our mission, our attorneys have worked hard to become experts in our fields and respected throughout the legal community. Each time one of our attorneys are asked to speak at a seminar, teach a training course, or participate in a panel, it is an honor and a testament to the hard work we put in to be the best of the best. Recently Richard Mack, a partner at Miller Cohen, was asked to speak at the Arbitrator and Fact Finding Training Program by the Michigan Employment Relations Commission. His topic will be "Why I Select Certain Panel Members and Not Others" - Union and Employer Representatives Discuss Their Experiences. When looking for an attorney, always seek the best. Seek the attorneys that other attorneys rely on for their training. Rely on Miller Cohen, PLC.

What can an attorney do to speed up my disability appeal?

Many Detroit residents, particularly those who are either applying for disability or thinking about doing so, have probably heard the news about notoriously long waiting times should they need to take an appeal of their application for disability to an Administrative Law Judge.
